Most Expensive Soccer Match Ever: Manchester United vs Manchester City

12 February 2011 the most expensive soccer match ever will be played. The Wall Street Journal added up the worth of all the players from both teams and came up with a total value of $850 million. This is the highest player value ever, not only for a soccer match, but for all confrontation in all sports. For example when you combine the value of players from the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox it ‘only’ is $380 million.
The record might not live long though, when Chelsea competes with Manchester City, the players have a combined value of $900 million.
